I just picked up one of these units surplus. Nice teletronics motherboard, sorta similar to a soekris. 1 pccard slot, 1 cf slot, 16mb? of ram, AMD elan SC520 cpu, 9v? power, serial console, rj45 ethernet. quite compact, and no heat sink neccessary for the cpu.
It also has a 500mw amplifier that doubles 2.4ghz signals to 5.8 ghz. Could be useful, but I'd rather have the option of amplification without frequency doubling. Anyone know how to accomplish this? The unit came with PoE injector and power supply, but the rooftop box does not include a splitter. Hrm. The best part is the box..a really nice cast aluminum box that is intended to be sealed with silicone caulk. looks like it could take quite a beating. So I am wondering, what people have done as far as making the amplifier stay at 2.4ghz, what success they have had in porting various software to the board (I am going to be putting roofnet on it myself), and what I could do for the PoE splitter. _______________________________________________ BAWUG's general wireless chat mailing list [unsubscribe] http://lists.bawug.org/mailman/listinfo/wireless
