Man Pleads Guilty to Spamming Through Hijacked Wireless Accounts
(29 September 2004)

Nicholas Tombros has pleaded guilty to sending spam through other
people's wireless accounts which he accessed without authorization.
Tombros pleaded guilty to one felony count; when he is sentenced on
December 27, he could face up to six months in jail.  The case is
believed to be the first criminal conviction under the federal CAN-SPAM
Act.
