I have worked in an industrial environment for many years.  On the plant floor of an automotive parts plant, we installed Panduit jacks in open surface mount boxes over 5 years ago.  Oily, high humidity in summer, dry winters, etc.  Most of the orginal 500 are still in use.  I can't imagine it is much better than a NEMA 3 box would be.

I have 2 NEMA 3 boxes that have been out for 10 months now with no problems.  I know that is not long term, but gives you something to start from.
