Thats big.
There is BIG pain in International calling rates when dealing with ILECs.
You know the, quoted flat rate plan, as long as you dial direct, but when
the dial direct gets a busy signal it auto transfers to an operator to
complete the call, without disclosure of the new rates of $3.00 a minute.
Etc.
Month one, Quotes Unlimited France calling $30 a month.
First bill $900.
Month two, Quotes unlimited plan not needed and can have 10 cents a minute
to France all calls.
Next bill $700.
Month three, same thing all over again.
Protest all charges every month.
Lost time, easily two complete business day, screaming on the phone.
VOIP is the answer for international calling. The justification a consumer
wants to buy it, even if they keep their Verizon local line.
Good move for Vonage.

Subject: [WISPA] Vonage Drops International Charges for Calls to Several
European Countries
All,
I thought this was very interesting news.
As quoted from the article;
"Vonage America announced today that it no longer will
charge international calling rates for calls placed to land lines in
France, Ireland, Italy, Spain,
and the U.K. The change applies to all current and future
Premium Unlimited Plan ($24.99 per month) and Small Business Unlimited
Plan ($49.99 per
month) subscribers."
