I had an answering machine program that used the modem in my pc.
I think every modem at the time came with software like that.

Winfax, bitfax, etc.

I used it for a while and it used to save each message as a sound file, not sure mp3 or not.

I would imagine there is still lots around that are still free.

I don't need a voice jail system. I don't need a VoIP phone system. I don't need really anything more that an answering machine that forwards the recorded message as an email attachment.....

Any ideas?
