An interesting stat:

*The firm said its total hotspots now number 48,000 in 79 countries,
including nearly 15,000 hot spots in the US.*
AT&T reported Thursday that it has added 13,000 Wi-Fi hotspots,
accessible by its AT&T Remote Access customers, at locations including
airports, hotels, and restaurants around the world.

Plus add all the muni wi-fi which is one big hotspot and the T-Mobile &
Sprint hotspots, plus all the indie and WISP powered hotspots.
