I'm sure Google has nothing to do with it, based on them being a Angel investor, Right ? Sure Meraki's network will serve 15,000 people, right? Pop up a few Omnis, and bam you serve 15000 people. Only thing you need is a $50 router, Right? (Yeah that'll show em performance and coverage for 15000 people) And lastly the one true message that is undisputable... Google and Earthlink are not the only providers that can justify giving away free service, when QOS and Support is not a required component of the offering. Anyone that has a self supporting network already in place, can easily shave off a few MB for a teaser FREE service. It cost the provider next to nothing.

You don't need big bucks and muni support, you need customers willing to buy and self-install CPEs.
