RFID will become even bigger when Motorola perfects their idea to print
using laser printers using silicon based toner. That will allow people to
basically print the label as part of the printing process a built in RFID
chip. That will make it so inexpensive that it will be on every thing that
has a bar code. This problem is just going to get worse.

My suggestion to most WISP's, make sure you are installing clients with a
larger fade margin so you might be able to deal with some of this noise. Of
course that won't solve any problems if you have so much noise at the AP it
wipes out a whole sector. Fade margin will save you a lot of headaches in
the long run. Shrinking coverage footprints due to noise is a compound
problem to solve just to retain customers who lost connectivity, and you
don't usually throw up AP's overnight to get those clients back.

These potential noise problems need to be factored in to your business
plans. If you don't have a recovery plan for when someone blows you off the
air you should. It's a hard pill to swallow but can't be ignored. The only
real protections you have is to have a plan to wok around any problems. Most
of the time this means money and backup equipment sitting on the shelf.

Thank You,
Brian Webster

Just another reason we have to fight hard to prevent personal portable
devices.

Maybe we should also fight against rfid technology too?
