Something to beware of when looking at the
towers on Gov Liquidation.
Often they will have lots of feet of towers, say 500
feet, but the engineering on those sections was NOT
to be one 500 foot tower, but 5 100 footers, as an
example.
There is a famous (infamous) wireless equipment broker right now
offering a 570 foot tower on his web page, saying that "managment
forgot about it". In actuallity, it is a number of smaller towers built
for the FAA, with a TOTAL of 570 feet. Management forgot about
them? No - they sold them through gov liquidations!
Anyone who has traveled I35 through KS has seen them on the side
of the road at the junkyard...
Will it hold up the average WISPs equipment? Sure! Will it work
if the WISP wants to market the tower as a platform for a cell
carrier? Well.... No.....
Just something to bear in mind.
