Kelly, We waterproofed our pigtails and leads by
taping and retaping. Not sure if that will help you. 
This same practice is used in the electric utlility
industry. I think there is a standard with IEEE and
IBEW trained personnel.  My guys waterproofed
everything.  Foggy here in the San Franciso Bay Area.
