I plan on using a big enough enclosure to put whatever radio in there I need to in the future, but for now, it looks like a $59 rb will do. I also will be using some dual pol solid dishes, and hooking up both cables to the enclosure, then, I am all set ip for a full duplex upgrade. All I'd need is another sr5 and a higher power cpu. Here's the thing. I've heard rumors of mikrotik coming out with a board with a higher cpu. That is the next step for me. I have probably 10 PTP I need to upgrade. They are currently ptmp 2.4 and 900 and only do a couple meg each. For what it's going to cost, I'll go with the "homebuilt" 5 meg link that is full duplex ready. This way I can afford to do them all. And then, 1 by 1, as the cpu gets maxed, I'll upgrade. But the rb133 won't go to waste. I'll go use it as a cpe somewhere. My goal here is to go cheap, but not waste any hardware. If I do tranzeo or something, what will I do with a tranzeo link when I upgrade it? Nothing, it sits on a shelf.
Anything crazy about this plan?

Out of curiousity what is "Super Cheap" with an rb setup like this?

6 meg would do. I would install a higher cpu unit later.....

Don't use 133s for backhauls. You will NOT get 12meg-15meg.... We have a 133 in place that is at 100% CPU utilization at 6meg with very very little else going on other then traffic.

12-15 meg.. depending on rules, connection tracking off may get you more.

Hey Guys,
I am trying to build some super cheap backhauls. How much traffic could I pass with the 133 and a couple of sr5, and would I want a level 3 or 4
lic?

Thanks,
Brian
