The DFS2 kicking in question is a good one David. We have learned that, at least in our customer field tests, that it does not happen that often. I think in one location it happened once a week, same time each week. I do not think we saw any case where it happened more than once a day. But the real answer most pertinent to you (as usual) is dependent on what is live in your area. The good news seems to be that these things are not all over the place.
Another point that should be made is to use small channel, such as 10 MHz. This is for two reasons: 1. you will have less exposure to the radar signal when and if it pops up, and 2: if it does pop up, you have more channels to switch to with an accordingly higher percentage chance of not hitting it again. Remember, that even with 10 MHz channels, with VL you can still get as high as 16 mbps net. As for pricing, prices look comparable (the same I think) as 5.8 GHz. Check with your channel though, as they have all the info now. Just glad it is out. I never much liked "will be," > preferring instead to be able to say "is." Much less vapor! Okay, then, dumb questions time! Will the pricing be comparable to the existing BreezeACCESS VL gear? In the real world (or at least in your testing) how often does DFS kick in, and what impact does it have on real-world throughput?
