Since January, I have sold Dish through a company called RSI Inc. Their
website is www.rsiinc.com. You get the same commissions as a direct Dish
agent, but they hold your hand a little. Also, when I previously tried to
be a direct Dish retailer, they required a storefront location. RSI does
not.

Regarding selling Dish as a WISP, it has its pros and cons.

Pros:
1. Nice profit on install to compliment breakeven or losses on WISP installs
2. Pretty easy to market to incoming internet sales calls
3. With VOIP, you can market a Triple Play of sorts to compete with
Cable/DSL

Cons:
1. Technology and installation accessories are totally different than WISP
(when you have a Dish/WISP install, you have to double your installation
stuff)
2. Installs take a lot longer than WISP installs
3. No recurring income to speak of ($1 per month per customer)
4. Risk of charge backs if customers don't fulfill contract
5. Different skill set to learn (getting the Dish pointed correctly is still
hard for us sometimes)
6. Customer support is increased to a degree.

But all in all, it has been a rewarding experience for us.

Subject: [WISPA] Direc TV and Dish

We now have 3 full time installer / techs. I am thinking we should
probably be selling Direc TV and Dish along with our wireless Internet.
Anyone else doing this? What is good or bad about this? How do I go
about becoming a dealer for these products? I have sales experience in
Cable TV industry. I used to sell to Motels and such for 3 states. I
know we could do this. I also want to do television for the motels
around here. Are others doing this with any success? I think Rick
Harnish told me he was doing this. Any information is much appreciated.
All the best,
John Scrivner
