VoIP offers a road map for WISPs to offer the double play to their customers. I
have been thinking for a long time that I will need to partner with someone to
help me put together my telephony offerings to my customers. I am guessing a
fair number of my customers will look to me for their telephone needs when I
decide to offer it. I am glad to see Alianza step up as a Vendor Member to
offer these services to WISPs. With this email we formally welcome Alianza to
WISPA and thank them for their support of our industry. Here is a little bit of
information about Michael Alvarez and Alianza:
Hello WISPA members. I'm happy to join the group. Alianza had its
humble beginnings in early 2003 when Brian Beutler, CEO and Scott Bell,
CTO, both college students at the time, won 1st place at the Brigham
Young University's Business Plan Competition. I joined them in early
2004.
The business plan at that time called for creating a Hosted VoIP/PBX
platform for residential and SMB end users in the US and Mexico. That
business was an overwhelming success until we realized that there was a
shortage of Hosted Unified Communications technology, provided via
Software as a Service, for ISPs.
So, we have changed direction and now license our technology to ISPs so
that they can provide IP and Hosted value added services to their end
users, with no capital expenditure.
Bottom line: We are the turnkey, private label solution for UC/VoIP and
much more for ISPs.
Our corporate offices are in Lindon, Utah, and also have branch offices
in Argentina, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
We are excited about the WIMAX technology and the potential it presents
to everyone involved.
