Universal Service at the Commission Word on the street is that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will soon put out for comment the Joint Board's Recommendation on Long-Term USF Reform. You may recall, the Joint Board submitted its recommendation to the FCC last November. Highlights of the recommendation were the creation of three separate funds - Broadband Fund, Mobility Fund, and Provider of Last Resort (POLR). The Joint Board also recommended eliminating the identical support rule. The FCC is also expected to release two other items for comment as well - a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on eliminating the identical support rule and a second NPRM on reverse auctions. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WISPA Wants You!
