All,

I have recently been doing more 5.8G links. The first challenge was
on a pole(15') mount with a 22dB grid antenna, link distance of 1.5
miles, and one end 1000' higher than the other. It took quite a while
to get the vertical tilt adjusted. Looking at the down tilt from the
ground was quite deceptive. We finally got someone up a ladder (15')
and had them aim it down from the back of the grid. It becomes
clear from this experience that the only way your eyes can help with
this adjustment, is when they're behind the grid in its final
location!

Now, I'm now looking at putting a 5.8 sector antenna on top of a 55'
crank up tower. We can't afford downtime for a day of crank up/down
fun with guesses in adjustments. Help! Any tips, links, or
trigonometry pointers would be appreciated! In fact any algiment tips
for antennas mounted out of reach would be appreciated.

I'm finding our WISPA membership most helpful, thanks all!
