I'm back on my feet but still a little rough around the edges.

Thanx to everyone for all your help and thoughts.

We didn't get as much done as we would have liked. We were able to help
Cliff get a few of his towers back in the game and one of his clients up
that was tore down. The weather got us in Houma. On Friday morning it
was raining when we got up and stayed pretty steady all day. We went to
NOLA to see if we could do anything for the volunteers that we helped
get connected after Katrina. We stopped by the Common Ground Health
Clinic http://cghc.org/ to see if they were still there. They are doing
great and still providing FREE health care and medicine to anyone that
needs it. This is a great organization and I feel privileged to help
folks like this. They didn't need us to do anything but hooked us up
with a free community center that provides computer and GED training to
underprivileged folks in NOLA. They had a number of PCs set up and kids
using them when we got there. They asked if we could set them up a
wireless hotspot for people in the community center to use. We dropped
them in a 433/r52 with 7db rubber ducky. We set up a free hotspot on it
showing events and things they had going on the splash page. Bob Van
Zant got them a domain and set them up on one of his servers so they
could start working on a website. craigeculturalcenter.com. It will need
some work from a web guy but it's a start (i suck at websites). While we
were there, there were a number of people dropping off used computers.
The guys that run this place work full time jobs and do this evenings
and weekends to try and help out the local kids. They refurbish the
donated computers and give them to kids that can't afford them. It is a
worth while cause and they are really dedicated folks. The kids in there
were really interested in learning and were off the streets doing
something productive. We are putting together some old PCs and laptops
that we have around to send down there for them.

We were supposed to meat with Joe Laura on Saturday but he got tied up
late on a job and we didn't get together. On Sunday I started feeling
pretty bad so we headed home. Kalob (my son) flew back out to the coast
on Tuesday to help get some Trango links back up for a WISP with
customers down in Alexandria, LA. He flew back on Thursday to be here
for my surgery on Friday morning. I went in Tuesday night after
realizing it was more than just bud blues bothering me.

I'm already sick of granola and lettuce;-( Looks like I'm done with road
trips for this year unless there is some type of help I can be from the
truck;-)
