It depends on what they're using to chat with. AFAIK, it is impossible to
block FaceBook and MySpace web based chats without blocking those sites
altogether, as they just use HTTP for their chat protocol.

Subject: [WISPA] Blocking chat/IM

Hi all.

Today, I have a request from a user to block chat/IM services on their
connection...

Anyone done this for a user? any ideas where to start?

The user has a daughter that is getting into trouble via IM.

While I know there is software that can be place on the daughters laptop, she
is by far more computer knowledgeable than her parents and would likely be able
to disable stuff placed on her system.

help?

Blair
