I'll have to admit believing some of the WiMAX hype until I heard this fact several months ago. The only people I see taking WiMAX seriously are service providers and carriers, particularly those who want to preserve their spectrum. They don't have to worry about competing noise because of their sole license. In many of these cases, they are buying the equipment for little more than to preserve the right to do what they want on that frequency.
