Reading the proposal that the state of Missouri is putting forward, as a consortium between some WISPS, a tower manufacturer, the local electric coops, and their distributor, some of the Telcos, and cable companies, I wonder just how much the small operator is going to make out.
I don't understand to be honest the fact that I, and my grandchildren, will be funding direct competition to myself, as I was advised the plans are to only build new towers, no co-location. Further, the towers would be built to hold cell carriers, hence direct competition, funded by my taxes. Looking at the maps, the electric coops already own towers in many of those specific locations they are going to build. Money to replace their towers? Don't take your organs to heaven, heaven knows we need them down here!
