I had not heard that different metals are more or less effective at RF shielding at higher frequencies. I had heard of Mu metal that's used in audio recording studios to specifically block 60Hz hum.
I tried to find info about what attenuation different materials offer and all I could find was this: http://www.ramayes.com/EMI_RF_Foil_Shielding.htm According to them the shielding (up to 10GHz) is about the same for the different materials. I know all the amps and splitters the cable company uses up on their poles are aluminum.
