Haven't tried it personally, but my understanding is that combination should work fine with the newer firmware. You would need to be up to at least 5.1 beta to get reliable .11a compatibility.
I'm out in Victoria on the left coast for the holidays, won't be experimenting with the new RCs when I get back as we have live customers on the Rocket sectors today, but 5.1 RC3 should be better yet. You need to go to the UBNT forums to get the latest firmware. Its on the sticky threads in the M forums.
