LOL, so many bashes into the ground, rocks, snow, ice, etc from off-road and jeep trail ventures, on the oil pan of my service van, that I get no more than 2 tanks of gas between oil fill-ups.
no, not broken, but it leaks all around the perimeter, and even a new gasket won't stop the leaks. Yes, this is pan #2, and all the local wrecking yards are out of oil pans Tankful of gas on this van is 250 miles (11 gallons), and it takes 1-2 quarts every time I put oil in it - so I get somewhere in the 200 - 300 mi to a quart. Amazing how much drips that is on the ground. I now recognize the oil light flash on a hard turn that means "I'm low". But sorry about the engine in your truck. Arreolas Automotive generally has the best prices on used engines. Don't trash the rig for a bad motor, replace it. I and my business partner were both mechanics in our previous life.
