A "rite of passage" at my house as a lad was to hang from the sill of the
second story window on the side of the garage and drop. The garage had a
second story floor with a ladder in a closet leading to what we called the
"clubhouse."

Today, neighbor parents would sue for endangering their kids.

I come from a family of seven kids. My mother usually drove a station
wagon. I carry images of unbridled children bouncing around and yelling.
The smallest always stood next to mom with an arm around her shoulders.
Bench seats and NO seat belts graced every family auto.

By today's standards, my mom could be charged with child abuse.

Sorry for the blatant hijack but this thread began on a whimsical note. The
Google Flag is awesome. If you do a Google search you'll understand what
prompted this thread.

Friendly Regards,

Mike

That's funny! That's actually how I broke my wrist. On a dirt bike. We
were seeing who could jump their dirt bike highest off a hill in an old
quarry.

Boys are supposed to try to kill themselves. What we have now is just
unnatural.

Can't tell you how many times I spilled off of my dirt bike before the age
of 10... Reaching for the kill switch to turn the motor off to realize that
the barbed wire has ahold of you...Now motorcycles have 4 wheels...I guess
they're fun, too.
