Customer called a few minutes ago asking if she should "Enable FIPS" on her Windows 7 net book.
HUH? So I pull out one of our net books, go to Manage Wireless Connections, then view the connections properties then Advanced (Microsoft buries everything..) and there is a checkbox for Enabling Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). Dunno! I tell her it's not a big deal, just leave it. I'm not into the FIPS, even the acronym sounds stupid. I've read up on it a bit here the past few minutes, what's the point of all this FIPS? Is FIPS for DIPS? Robert West Just Micro Digital Services Inc. 740-335-7020 Logo5
