this is more of an old wives tale now.......Banking Rules have changed... You cannot walk into a Bank and open a Bank Account for the Business without giving your personal info.... Accepting Credit Cards is the same way... (and It makes sense...) Credit card payments to the merchant are done on a Trust Basis, with the agreement on settling and 'bad transactions' after the fact.
There are a few folks out there who will for the right amount of 'fee' provide you with anonymity in doing these types of transactions..(e.g paypal ).. One time I had this conversation with our Attorney, about signing a personal guarantee... He was talking out loud... first he said, don't... then he said, these days it don't make much difference, being the Owner of the bussiness, if something goes wrong, they will still come after you ..with or without any guarantees... another factor that makes a difference is what is your networth... if it ain't much... then you have even less to worry about..
