You are all telling me what I thought would be the case. What would be a great app is a little app you put on a Flash drive and plug it into the pc and it does a scan and saves the data to a .csv. Nothing loaded tells memory, cpu, IP, user and whatever.
Oh well since I am the furthest thing from a programmer guess it will dream. If it is a security issue test on a LAN network fine. Otherwise you need "Administrator or root" access to the Box to do the job. Of course, you can have a lot of information about protocol running on the Box, just using a port scan software, like old Ethereal Wireshak (http://www.wireshark.org/). Anyway, good luck !
