Thanks. I thought I had read somewhere that there was a way to use the UBNT 
gear as a repeater or extender (not WDS) that involved something like leaving 
the ssid blank, and the unit would act as a client to the nearest open network 
but also act as an AP allowing it to repeat (extend) the open network it found. 
Maybe I dreamt about about it.
