Could be multiple reasons for such a sharp, instant and unnatural drop. 1. The reason the trade press gives often is not the real reason but a cover story intended for the masses. 2. Manipulating the price of anything these days (stocks, gold, etc.) can and is done by any entity through leveraged, computer-programmed buying and selling. A drop as steep and as sudden as UBNT says that either a) A huge number of holders of the stock all decided to unload it at the very same exact instant (the chances of this are little to none), or b) The price was manipulated downward intentionally. I have no idea who would want to do this, right?
