We had snow build up on our first AF24 link once. The unit it built-up on was
facing directly into the wind. The snow was very wet and probably more sleet
than snow at times.
I was in another town at the time. I had a weather stripped bed cover on my
truck with Christmas packages inside. When I opened the cover there was a 5"
thick wall of snow the full height of the bed between the tailgate and the
packages. The wind was western Nebraska type, very unusual for here.
I had one of the guy grab a "hammer " and strike the tower from the ground. 2"
of snow slid off the face of the AF24. The link came back up. It is a 1.25 mi
link. That was the first winter AF24s were available. We've had rainfade
take the link down a couple of times, but no more snowfade here in Arkansas.
So, yes, it can happen.
