It's time to ACT to save CBRS spectrum You all screamed a month ago when the CBRS order came out and wanted to do something about it. NOW IS THE TIME, and very few of you are participating. Please follow the instructions below. This isn’t that difficult. If you can’t figure it out, ask the youngest person on your staff. The FCC is laughing at us - they know they sucked all the air out of the room with Network Neutrality and they intentionally timed the publication and comment deadlines for CBRS to bury them in the NN controversy and the holidays. And it’s working for them. PLEASE post comments on your business and/or personal accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and/or LinkedIn in support of CBRS. 1) Be part of our Twitter campaign: Take a clear picture of a rural or small-town location near you that could be better served with fixed wireless and CBRS spectrum. Upload it to your social media account with language like the following. Be sure to tag WISPA, your Members of Congress, and the White House. Please keep it professional and do not criticize any FCC commissioners or other government officials; we need their support! You can identify your Members of Congress by visiting www.House.gov or www.Senate.gov , and their social media links will be listed on their websites. Twitter (no more than 280 characters): Dear @FCC: Here’s another area at risk of never getting broadband service if you change the #CBRS rules to favor big mobile carriers. Insert rural photo https://goo.gl/TKczyK [insert your member of Congress’s Twitter name here] @WhiteHouse @WISPANews Calling all WISPA members, WISP customers, and allies: Help us tell @FCC that the current #CBRS rules are helping to close the rural broadband gap and should not be tinkered with! https://goo.gl/TKczyK [insert your member of Congress’s Twitter name here] @WhiteHouse @WISPANews Dear @FCC: Don’t sink our hopes for rural broadband; keep the #CBRS rules! https://goo.gl/TKczyK [insert your member of Congress’s Twitter name here] @WhiteHouse @WISPANews Attention @FCC : Don't take away rural consumers' best hope for finally closing the broadband gap! Keep the #CBRS rules! https://goo.gl/TKczyK [insert your member of Congress’s Twitter name here] @WhiteHouse @WISPANews Hey @FCC -- Don’t leave rural areas behind by changing the #CBRS rules to favor the big mobile companies! https://goo.gl/TKczyK [insert your member of Congress’s Twitter name here] @WhiteHouse @WISPANews In the #CBRS spectrum band, c ensus-tract-sized PAL licenses are crucial for bringing broadband internet to rural customers. https://goo.gl/TKczyK [insert your member of Congress’s Twitter name here] @WhiteHouse @WISPANews @FCC Facebook and LinkedIn: Dear @FCC: Don’t leave rural areas like mine behind by changing the #CBRS rules to favor the big mobile companies! @Your-member-of-Congress : Please let FCC know your views! More info at WISPA.org : https://goo.gl/TKczyK Any of the above options will work as well. 2) The “easy way”: Follow WISPA on these networks, watch for our posts, and then “like,” “retweet,” “share,” etc. We will be using the hashtag #CBRS. 3) Down the road, we will ask you to contact your U.S. House and U.S. Senate members; be prepared to draft your company’s official comments to the FCC; and sign on to WISPA’s industry letters to the FCC and/or Congress.
