Hi, Has anyone here tried sniffing their own network passively (promiscous mode)? In the Linux OS, using a Cisco 350 card and set to promiscous mode, I tried to measure my own network signal strength. My readings are based on:
(1) /proc/net/wireless - shows the strongest signal strength available (2) /proc/driver/aironet/eth1/BSSList - shows the entire network with rssi.. the smaller the rssi, the stronger the signal which of the 2 methods is more accurate? thanks regards WCY __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
