Oh, man, that's bad news. I am using a Microsoft wireless router with
4 10/100 ports, 802.11g, and matching g card in my laptop.

I just bought a used SMC Barricade wireless 802.11b router with print
server/parallel port. I had intended on setting it up with the plotter
in my basement. This is bad news if it will slow down my laptop's WiFi
to 11Mbs. I always figured an 11Mbs connection to a 1.5Mbs cable modem
should be no slower than 54Mbs, but for who knows what reason, it is
markedly slower.

Am I doing something wrong?

I was going to ask how I make sure the laptop WiFi connects directly
to the MS WiFi as it's connected to the cable modem.

I suppose my alternative is to disable the WiFi in the 802.11b box and
just run wires. I mostly bought that router for the print server and
wired router part, wireless was just a bonus.
