Hello to the group. I wanted to make everyone aware that IEEE-Oregon is sponsoring a 4- day wireless LAN security workshop in the Portland area in September.
Dates: Sept 14th ~ 17th 2004 Venue: Kingstad Place for Meetings, Beaverton, Oregon The class covers Wireless LAN Intrusion, Security Policy, and Security Solutions. A key course objective is to prepare attendees for the CWSP exam and certification. Attendees will configure, test and implement layer2 and layer3 wireless security solutions, while gaining a first-hand understanding of the tactics and tools that malicious intruders use to gain access to unsecured wireless LANs. Virtually all CIOs considering wireless LAN installations lament the general lack of knowledge among network staff about wireless security and cite this shortcoming as the main reason for delaying deployment of these networks. Needless to say, admins who understand WLAN security are becoming more valuable than ever in the enterprise IT environment.
