As you approach 20m, do you see a drop in throughput or does the
connection drop entirely?

Couple of things to try:

1. Change the channel. Maybe the channel you are currently using has
some interference.

2. Check the settings on the client card. Make sure that it is not set
to use only the highest data rate.

3. If you are not already using a Cisco card on the client side, try doing so.
