--- Comment #7 from Christopher Maynard <christopher.mayn...@igt.com> ---
(In reply to Jaap Keuter from comment #6)
> Hi Chris, in the context of this bug, is there still things missing?
Most mnemonics seem to be there, but there are a few missing as compared to a
2.6.6 Gtk version of Wireshark (which is the only old Gtk version I have at my
disposal for making comparisons at the moment), including:
View
-> Zoom -> Zoom _O_ut
-> _N_ormal Size
(Shortcut also changed from Old: Ctrl+= to Ctrl+0)
-> Internals
(Gtk had a separate menu, accessed via Alt+I, but now there's no way to
use the keyboard to access the Internals sub-choices because Internals has no
mnemonic assigned to it, _I_ being the logical choice here.)
-> The order of Dissector tables and Conversation hash tables are swapped
for some reason. Not a big deal, just an observation and curious as to why.
Go
-> _G_o to Packet...
-> F_i_rst Packet
-> _L_ast Packet
Analyze
-> Display Filters... switched from _D_isplay Filters to Display _F_ilters
-> _E_nabled Protocols... missing due to Display Filter _E_xpression,
presumably
Statistics
-> Flo_w_ Graph...
-> Previously, _S_ummary existed but that's now Capture File Properties,
except there's no mnemonic for it
Telephony -> LTE
-> _M_AC Statistics
-> _R_LC Statistics
I *think* that covers the differences, although I suppose mnemonics could be
added for some menu items that didn't previously have one assigned if it makes
sense to do so, but I leave that to the discretion of the developers to decide.
There does seem to be a bug with always displaying the available mnemonics
though:
For the mnemonics that are there, although the keyboard shortcuts still work,
for some as-yet unknown reason, sometimes the underlined shortcut no longer is
underlined. One way that seems to reliably reproduce the problem is to change
focus from Wireshark to another application and then switch back to Wireshark.
At this point, all the underlined characters in the drop-down menu are no
longer underlined, at least if you open the menu with the mouse instead of
bringing up the menu with the keyboard shortcut. For example, if you click on
File, you won't see the underlined characters, but if you use the keyboard
<ALT-F>, then you will, and the underlined characters will persist even if you
now use the mouse to access the menu ... until you switch to another
application and back to Wireshark again, that is.
