This seems related to the management of extcap options in Wireshark, and
presumably the ability to save them.
If I start usbpcapcmd from the welcome screen, I get the following command
line:
"C:\Program Files\Wireshark\extcap\USBPcapCMD.exe" --capture --extcap-interface
\\.\USBPcap2 --fifo \\.\pipe\wireshark_extcap_20160909071304
--capture-from-all-devices --capture-from-new-devices "--devices "
that triggers an error. note the --devices options that contains an empty
string that is suspicious
If I start ucbpcapcmd from the extcap options screen without touching any
parameter, I get the following command line and it works fine:
"C:\Program Files\Wireshark\extcap\USBPcapCMD.exe" --capture --extcap-interface
\\.\USBPcap2 --fifo \\.\pipe\wireshark_extcap_20160909071529
--capture-from-all-devices
