That looks suspiciously similar to bug 156:

http://bugs.wireshark.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=156

which turned out to be a bug in GCC:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=157308

Otherwise I'm not sure how something _we_ are doing wrong can cause an 
undefined reference to something named ".LC*".
