Hi, I guess that the GTK1 version is less 'X intensive' than GTK2. So Wireshark 1.0.3 (GTK+ 2.12.0) is more intensive than Wireshark 0.99.3a (GTK+ 1.2.10). Have a go with the GTK1 build of Wireshark 1.0.3 and see what happens then.
