Thank you John. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to re install my windows image if something goes wrong. So I would wait for some one else to explain why this mysterious "if you want to build 64-bit binaries for Windows 7" is present in the tutorial, I hope that it would be for some good reason and I can work around this problem in a simpler way.
Otherwise,I will have to take your advise and do all the steps in some other windows installation.
