Thanks for the note on the library! I am using Python for the extcap plugin. Yes, indeed this is the idea of the extcap plugin: Assuming an ublox receiver connected via USB, the plugin configures the serial device (/dev/ttyACMx), reads UBX messages from the serial device, and encapsulates the UBX messages in PCAP entries.
