Hello all,
It seems that wireshark.org <http://wireshark.org> has moved to
smtp.google.com <http://smtp.google.com> for email (recently?).
This seems to cause some problems, at least, for me.
- Emails from some domains are rejected stating "policy reasons"
without any details.
- The mailing list subscription mechanism has some issues. At least,
the mail addresses generated by mailman to confirm subscriptions are
rejected by Google by "address unknown" (even from gmail adresses).
UGH!!!
Google is TERRIBLE for mail handling. They have the nerve to claim they
know every valid email address on the Internet (which they do not). And
there is no way to address any issues someone might run into (like
alleged policy issues).
And heaven forbid you try to send an email to an abuse contact?!?
Companies that use Google to handle their email HAVE NO CHOICE but to
have any email blocked that Google deems may contain spam or phishing
content, but that's what people have to send to get an abuse contact to
deal with the abuse. No respectable (and responsible) domain owner
should use Google to handle their email.
