Deepali, Who knows? Maybe you forgot to plug the power in or a rodent has chewed through your Ethernet cable :-) If you really would like us to help you, you need to tell us more about the environment you are trying to use Wireshark, and what steps you have taken to set up for packet capture and to troubleshoot the problem. The FAQ does talk about obvious issues such as trying to capture traffic in a switched Ethernet environment (unless you do something like port mirroring you won't see any traffic other than your own and broadcasts on the LAN). But you may have already investigated this. Martin
