Hi Mark, Once upon a time the stability of JavaScript might have been in question, but I think those days are long gone.
Mind you I don't build as many public facing apps as many of you folks, but in the corporate intranet world JavaScript is an absolute must for an application with any degree of sophistication. For public sites the question of whether or not to utilize JavaScript applies to the same question of session-cookies, your project needs to define a policy or terms-of-service for minimum site use requirements, and include JavaScript in that list.
