Hi Gene,

The tutorials that come with the Dev Studio are probably your friend's best
bet.

But I'm wondering what Region / City your friend is in, because I've always
found it very beneficial to have just an hour long one-on-one session with
people new to Witango.

For the most part, a Getting Started session just needs to help a person
grasp the concept of the visual 'Actions', typed Metatags and the
relationship they play with your output HTML. Once they are past this
point, they are usually off to the races.

Likewise, if someone can do this in person, they can ensure their Dev
Studio and web-server are setup properly.

I'm in the Vancouver BC Canada area, and I'm always happy to donate an hour
or two to help out a new Witango inductee. Just buy me lunch :-)

And on this note, I know there is someone in the San Francisco area that
could use a Getting Started session if anyone has time?? Contact me
Off-List.

And just because I always have a hard time shutting up :-}, what do people
think about the viability of Remote-Screen training?

I was kicking around this idea awhile ago, but if someone setup a Dev
Studio on a Server with something like Terminal Server or Radmin - then an
attendee could logon and watch as an instructor walks them through some Dev
Studio tutorials. There would have to be an open phone line (or streaming
audio), but this way they get hands-on training without having to travel.

By the way, I found a product called http://www.radmin.com as a replacement
for VNC. It renders screens much better and faster, can optionally use NT
Security and provide 'view-only mode' and has Telnet and File Transfer
built in.

Just a few thoughts, eh.

Good Luck. Cheers....
