So I am confused here. If you are just using SQL 2000 and witango then the date in the field does not matter. You can remove it from your calculation with the format:datetime as in my previous post.

Or do I not understand the problem.

but i use the same table in other appication and the can`t handle text field so i need a datetime field whit only the tine in it

For Witango it dos no mather if you calculate with a value from a Text-Field.
It will be handle as number...

For the insert:

Define teh format what you want - if your field only accept timestamps, so change the field in a textfiled.

in witango i can show the date how i want but is use the sametble
in access xp and when i want to edit the fiels the same dat show up and calc dont work properle
