Title: Re: Witango-Talk:  Database question
I spent some time with Rbase, and there were a few things that held me back. It is not fully SQL 92 compliant, and it does not offer the platform and connection choices necessary. Primebase runs equally well on Windows NT/2000, Linux, Solaris, OS X, IBM AIX, and even OS 9(not as good due to OS limitations). You can also connect from any platform to any other. This means I can write my code with no concern over the hardware choice of my clients. Why have such a flexible app server, and then limit yourself with you DBMS? Just my opinion.

I will say though, that I fell in love with the head honcho at Rbase during the April convention. If Rbase provided the same flexibility and power, I would give it a serious look.

have you looked into RBase?  Its what the company i work for uses, its also used by various government organizations and has some strong connections to Witango so if you have some questions many of the developers here would be able to give you some answers.
