The Crystal Enterprise package works well with MS SQL.  It works with your web server and serves up .rpt files via a viewer.  The viewer can be activeX, Netscape Java, Java, HTML, and HTML with Frames.  You specify via the arguments in the link to the report.  You can also send parameter variable values, user ids and passwords as well as selection and grouping values via arguments.  It works very well.  Our version of Crystal Reports came with a 5 user license.  Not sure the cost of more.  Check out the Crystal Decisions web site.

It works well for us.  WiTango can provide a better criterion screen than the dialogue box Crystal uses, so it is a good match.

Subject: Witango-Talk: What do people use for reporting?

Hi list,

Could someone please tell me frankly... Is it realistic to offer a web interface to design reports for an application running on MS SQL. The Crystal site tells you it will do everything, but does it offer a web interface for report design? If so, what's it called and do people have good experiences with it?

Thanks in advance
