For a function you would just call it w/ a select statement. To my knpwledge a stored procedure must work here! Its happening from the Oracle SQL plus.but its not happening from tango to Oracle. Calling a stored procedure from Tango thru SQL server works pretty fine. Are we missing something!! Thanx Prasad R OfficeTiger Database Systems India Pvt. Most of the newer database some with a client that you can input sql direct and have it display results. Like ISQL for SQL Server. I then work in there to find the syntax that is required to call a stored procedure. Then I try it in a DirectDBMS. In some cases I have had to change the Stored Procedure to a Stored Function so that I could call it within a select statement. I hope this helps some. When I tried using call <Procedure Name>('<Paramenter>') I got the same error. Could you please give me an example by using Select statement to execute a query in DIRECT_DBMS.
