Well if you built your solution starting out with FMP 3.x but are now
running 4.x then you got bit by an FMP change that wasted a slug of my time
too.

The fastest way to use FMP was to put all your fields on one layout and work
with that.

You could search/update, do anything you wanted on that layout.

But then with FMP 4.x Filemaker changed it so you *had* to update on
Layout_0 so any actions that updated the other layouts broke.

I have a very nice set of editing modules which all update a layout
different than Layout_0 :-(. There must be about 120 actions all referencing
the wrong layout. So that machine runs on FMP 3.x until I find a spare week
to change everything. So far I've been waiting for 2 years for that spare
week to materialize.
